The University of Pretoria (UP) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation (MCF) is currently offering scholarships for high achieving African students interested in studying at postgraduate levels, commencing in 2026.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP) at the University of Pretoria provides full scholarships to selected students who have received provisional admission to an eligible postgraduate degree programme at the university. The programme is designed to support academically talented young Africans who face financial or economic barriers to accessing quality higher education. Beyond providing financial assistance, the MCFSP aims to develop future leaders who can contribute meaningfully to the social and economic transformation of Africa.
